Smash Ultimate Patch – 5.0.0 – Side By Side Comparison
Nintendo released update 5.0.0 for Smash Ultimate and the guys from Beefy Smash Doods made a side by side comparison of the patch notes Nintendo put on their website.
New Character: Banjo-Kazooie
Banjo-Kazooie come with their own stage and their own music.
New Mode: Homerun Contest
Players deal as much damage to a sandbag over 10 seconds, and then hit it with the Home Run Bat item. The higher the percentage the farther it flies.
Smash Ultimate – Changes
No dodge after landing (All Fighters)
Previously, if you were in the air and held the shield button and input left, right, or down, and then continued to hold the shield button until you landed, you would dodge in the direction input upon landing. Now, you will only dodge after landing if you input the direction after landing.
Lag after Grab (All Fighters)
Adjusted the time until you can move again after grab parrying to be consistent.
Grab buffering while rolling (Yoshi)
You can now buffer a grab after rolling with Yoshi.
Easier to land multiple hits (Peach, Daisy)
Made it easier to hit multiple times with Up Special.
Steal Edge Grabs (Ice Climbers)
Restored Nana’s ability to steal edge grabs.
Buried opponents (Villager)
Buried opponents will now be shot up with Up Smash Attack and hit multiple times.
Attack while sleep (Rosalina & Luma)
Hero’s Snooze will no longer prevent Luma from being controlled, similar to other instances of sleep.
Move after bouncing (Joker, Hero)
Adjusted the time it takes to move again to match other fighters when bouncing while lying facedown.
Kafrizz (Hero)
After Kafrizz hits a fighter or the stage and explodes, it can now be guarded against with a shield, reflected, or absorbed.
Magic Burst (Hero)
Smash Ball (Item)
Slowed the movement speed and made it easier to hit with attacks.
New Mii Costumes
