FINAL FANTASY XII: THE ZODIAC AGE – Monographs

WHAT IS A MONOGRAPH?? A Monograph is a, “KEY ITEM,” that you can obtain from the BAZAAR in Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age that increases the chances of RARE LOOT from MONSTERS and even increases the chance that MONSTERS will drop 2 ITEMS instead of just one. They are shown as “Forgotten Grimoire” in the Bazaar once you unlock them and you unlock them different ways. They are expensive, especially early on when money is hard to come by, but they are well worth the price. Here is how you unlock all of them, what they do, and how much they cost in the Zodiac Age.

HUNTER’S MONOGRAPH
HOW TO UNLOCK: Talk to Gastly in Muthru Bazaar after completing the ‘Wolf in the Waste’ Hunt.
WHAT IT DOES: Enables the acquisition of superior loot from Beasts and Avions.
COST: 18,000 GIL

KNIGHT’S MONOGRAPH
HOW TO UNLOCK: Talk to any Weapon Shop owner 30 times.
WHAT IT DOES: Enables the acquisition of superior loot from Giants and Insects.
COST: 19,000 GIL

WARMAGE’S MONOGRAPH
HOW TO UNLOCK: Read the “Hunt Board” 20 times.
WHAT IT DOES: Enables the acquisition of superior loot from Amorphs and Undead.
COST: 20,000 GIL

MAGE’S MONOGRAPH
HOW TO UNLOCK: Talk to any Magick Shop owner 25 times.
WHAT IT DOES: Enables the acquisition of superior loot from Fiends.
COST: 21,000 GIL

DRAGOON’S MONOGRAPH
HOW TO UNLOCK: Read the “Hunt Board” 40 times.
WHAT IT DOES: Enables the acquisition of superior loot from Dragons and Plants.
COST: 22,000 GIL

SCHOLAR’S MONOGRAPH
HOW TO UNLOCK: Talk to any Armor Shop owner 15 times.
WHAT IT DOES: Enables the acquisition of superior loot from Constructs.
COST: 22,000 GIL

SAGE’S MONOGRAPH
HOW TO UNLOCK: Talk to any Shop owner/Merchant 100 times.
WHAT IT DOES: Enables the acquisition of superior loot from Elementals.
COST: 25,000 GIL

CANOPIC JAR
HOW TO UNLOCK: Sell PHOBOS GLAZE, HORAKHTY’S FLAME, and DEIMOS CLAY (all items earned by completing certain Hunts) to a Merchant.
WHAT IT DOES: Allows all enemies to drop Arcana.
COST: 250,000 GIL
